Student Entrepreneurs come to Market
Market sponsor LOC Credit Union returns this season with its series of Farmington Student Entrepreneurs selling their handmade products at the Market.
First up is Lillian Evans, who will be at the June 14 Market with Lillian’s Handmade Accessories. Lillian, 13, is from Farmington Hills and will be in eighth grade next year at East Middle School.
On Saturday she will be selling earrings, key chains, crochet critters and some 3D printed items.
“I like to sew, make earrings, crochet and 3D print,” she says. “I have been selling my items at craft shows for the last four years.
“I am hoping to earn enough money to buy a laser cutting machine. Some of the proceeds will also go to buying materials to make quilts for the Oakland County Foster Closet. This year, I have started to help my mom make quilts for donation.”
Lillian is one of three winners of LOC's 2025 Student Entrepreneurs Contest who will be selling at the Market this year. The contest is offered to all Farmington and Farmington Hills students, third through12th grades. The students submit a detailed business plan, and LOC employees vote for their favorites.
You can find information on the program next spring at LOC socials, in the schools and at the Farmington Community Libraries.
