California vibe meets Michigan’s finest produce
Emily Wagner is a seasoned chef and entrepreneur with more than 20 years’ experience in the culinary industry. As the owner of Brickhouse Kitchen Catering in Los Angeles, she specialized in high-volume corporate, entertainment and school catering, consistently serving an average of 500 meals per day.
Her expertise in managing large-scale operations and delivering exceptional food quality led her to successfully launch and operate two popular small cafes in Venice and Westchester, California, both of which she eventually sold before moving to Michigan to assist an ailing family member.
In October 2023, Emily combined her “farm-to-table” ethos and culinary passion by launching Brickhouse Kitchen Soups at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. Her business quickly gained a loyal following with its fresh, packaged and bulk soups. She also offered a wide variety of gourmet grilled cheeses made with high-quality ingredients, including local Michigan cheeses, house-made sauces and fresh-made jams.
With a strong focus on quality and community, Brickhouse Kitchen Soups has rapidly expanded to five local grocery stores, including Western Market Ferndale, Market Fresh and Market Square, and five farmers markets throughout the metro Detroit area. As a recent breast cancer survivor, Emily is deeply committed to giving back, a mission she fulfills by educating people on how to prepare healthy meals using local, fresh produce.
