The Market is coming … we promise! Just ignore all that white stuff burying your cars and messing up the driveway. This too shall pass.
In fact, circle this date IN RED on your calendar: Saturday, May 2. That’s when the 33rd annual Farmington Farmers Market will ring the Opening Day bell!
And it promises to be a great season. We’re planning a special party for our country’s 250th birthday on July 4, which just happens to be on a Market Saturday! And of course we’ll be bringing back the old standbys – the monthly Kids POP! Club, beginning June 13, Strawberry Shortcake Day (June 20), our Ice Cream Social (August 1), Elks’ Community Corn Roast (August 15) and the third annual Apple Dessert Bake-Off (October 10). Check back in the months ahead for details and more events.

The Market is thrilled to share the news that one of our original farmers – Fusilier Family Farms – has been awarded the Master Farmer Award by the Michigan Vegetable Council. Congratulations to Kathy and Mike and their entire family!

Behind the scenes at the Goetz family farm
In this new video, we accompany Market Manager Walt Gajewski as he makes an annual farm visit to the Goetz Greenhouse, a farm near Riga, Michigan, that’s been in the family for generations. You will learn how the farm is able to deliver organically grown produce to the Market every Saturday.
